Age verification Pro
Put an age gate in front of your site that visitors must answer before they continue.
The Age Verification type shows a gate with a confirm and a deny button. A visitor who confirms is remembered and not asked again; a visitor who denies is sent away. Use it for alcohol, tobacco and vaping, CBD, gambling and other age-restricted content.
Set it up#
- Edit a popup and set Popup Type to Age Verification.
- Write the question in the Heading, for example Are you of legal drinking age?, and any legal note in Content.
- Set the two buttons (below).
- Make it a real gate (next section).
- Click Save.
The buttons#

Make it a gate that must be answered#
By default a popup can be closed with the close button, a click outside it or the Escape key. For an age gate, close all three:
- On the Popup Settings tab switch on Force Interaction. Clicks outside the popup and the Escape key are then ignored.
- On the Popup Styles tab open Close Button and switch on Hide Close Button.
The gate can now only be left through its own two buttons.
Display settings#
- Where: leave Display the popup on the page on Everywhere so every entry page is covered.
- When: page load with a delay of 0 seconds.
- How often: set Frequency Mode to Always. The gate itself remembers a confirmation for the period you set and stays away after it.
- Look: a fullscreen popup (Popup Settings → Make Popup Fullscreen → Always) with a dark overlay hides the page completely.
An age gate asks; it cannot verify. It satisfies the common legal expectation of an age prompt, but it is not identity verification. If your jurisdiction requires proof of age, you need a dedicated verification service at checkout.
