Closing behavior Pro
How visitors close a popup, and the Pro options that close it automatically after a form submission, a delay, a video or a custom event.
How a popup closes by default#
Every popup, in the free plugin too, can be closed in three ways:
- the close button in its corner;
- a click outside the popup, on the dimmed page;
- the Escape key.
Two free settings change this:

| Hide Close Button | Popup Styles → Close Button | Removes the close button. Together with Force Interaction, the popup can only be left through its own buttons. |

Closing automatically#
Wing Popup Pro adds four automatic ways to close, under Closing Behavior on the Display Options tab.
Close After Form Submit#
Closes the popup once a form inside it has been submitted successfully.

| Delay Before Closing | Seconds to wait, so the visitor can read the success message. 2 by default. |
Auto-Close After Delay#
Closes the popup by itself after a time, whether or not the visitor reacted.

Use it for notices that should not need a click: Free shipping this weekend, a saved-cart reminder, a small thank-you.
Close After Video Completes#
Closes the popup when a video inside it has played to the end. It works with HTML5 <video> elements, that is, self-hosted MP4 files.
Close After Custom Action#
Closes the popup when your own code says so.

How a popup closed matters for how soon it returns. Under Frequency and suppression, Don't show again after dismissal for applies when the visitor closed the popup themselves; Don't show again for applies from the moment it was shown.
