Display a form
Show a Wing Popup form in a popup, in any page or post with a shortcode, or with the Wing Popup Form block.
A form built under Wing Popup → Forms can be shown in three ways. All three use the same form, with the same settings, messages and spam protection.
In a popup#
Create a popup of the Form type and select the form. See Form popup.
With the shortcode#
Every form has a shortcode with its ID:
[wing-popup-form id="12"]
To copy it, go to Wing Popup → Forms and click the shortcode in the form's row.

Paste it wherever shortcodes work:
- in the block editor, in a Shortcode block;
- in the classic editor, straight into the content;
- in Elementor and other page builders, in their Shortcode widget;
- in a text widget, for a signup form in the footer or sidebar.
With the block#
In the block editor:
- Click + and search for Wing Popup Form.
- Add the block.
- Choose the form from the Form menu in the block's settings.
The editor shows a preview of the form. The block supports wide and full alignment.
Which one to use#
| You want | Use |
|---|---|
| A form that appears at a chosen moment | A Form popup |
| A form that is part of a page (a contact page, a footer signup) | The block or the shortcode |
| A form inside an article that still looks like a banner | An Inline Form popup. See Display mode. |
Good to know#
- A switched-off form shows nothing to visitors. Logged-in administrators see a short note in its place, so a missing form is easy to spot.
- Pro form types (pre-sale, login, registration) show only while Wing Popup Pro is active.
- Styles. A form in a page uses its Appearance settings exactly as it does in a popup.
- Caching. Forms work on cached pages. They do not rely on a WordPress nonce in the page, which would expire while the page sits in a cache.
- The older shortcode
[wing-popup-mc-form]from earlier versions still works.
