Popup types
Every popup type in Wing Popup, what each one is for, and how to choose which types the picker offers.
The Popup Type is the first choice on a popup's Popup Content tab. It decides what the popup shows and which fields appear under it.
Free popup types#

Pro types can be selected and set up in the free plugin, marked (Pro). A popup of a Pro type is shown to visitors only while Wing Popup Pro is active; until then it is skipped and listed in a notice on the Popups screen.
Options several types share#
Some fields appear for more than one type and work the same everywhere:
- Image, Heading, Content, Call To Action Button, Dismiss Button Text: the basic content fields. Leave one empty and it is not shown.
- Image Layout: where the image sits relative to the text. See Image layout.
- Lock the Page Behind: blurs the page until the popup is completed. See Content locker.
- Follow-up message and Reveal a Coupon Code: what a popup shows after its main action. See Follow-up message and coupon.
Choose which types the picker offers#
A long list of types makes the picker slower to scan. Under Wing Popup → Settings → General → Content Types, tick the types you use in Popup Types in the Picker; unticked types are hidden from the Popup Type menu.
- A type that a popup already uses stays available even when it is unticked.
- Form and Template are not in that list. They follow the Enable Forms and Enable Templates switches at the top of the same screen.

Changing the type of an existing popup#
You can change a popup's type at any time. The shared fields (image, heading, content, buttons) are kept. Fields that belong only to the old type are dropped when you save, so switching back later starts those from their defaults.
